Chapada Alta brings together more than five falls on the Rio Borrachudo, about fifty kilometers from Alto Paraíso. Among the spots to visit are Cachoeira das Araras, the Escadaria and other greenish-water pools between rock walls and stony terrain.

The same site holds a cave or rock passage associated with Ponte de Pedra, which extends the outing’s appeal beyond swimming. Some routes are longer and require a guide; Seu Augusto is a point of reference for guiding and hospitality.

Camping, rustic rooms and meals make it possible to plan a two-day stay instead of trying to see every spot in a single outing. Confirm in advance which facilities are available, how many walks are involved and the equipment needed to visit the cave.

Getting there by car

For the upper section, it is about 50 km of paved road and 10 km of dirt from Alto Paraíso. You can set out in your own car or with hired transportation. Arrange the circuit and vehicle: the upper section, the lower section and overnight stays have different logistics.

Guiding

Local guide required, including on the routes to the cave and Ponte de Pedra.

Where to arrive and start

The green markers show where to start the visit. Check each point’s type: a property reference marks the establishment, not the parking spot or the exact trailhead.

Visitor recordings on Wikiloc help you get to know the route and its stops. Measurements are approximate and belong to the recorded track; elevation gain adds up the climbs or descents. Difficulty is the author’s own rating and may differ from the guide’s classification. Check current conditions with the attraction’s operator.
