The main fall, about forty meters high, spreads across the rock wall and forms a pool of cold, deep water. The trail, just over one kilometer long, has marked ups and downs, with two main elevation changes. Wooden viewpoints let you see the waterfall without necessarily completing the descent to the swimming spot.

Plan your route with the way back in mind: going down to the base means climbing the most demanding section afterward. The path to the viewpoint and the access to the pool are different experiences.

The visit to Almécegas I can be self-guided via the Aldeia access, which is separate from the usual Fazenda São Bento entrance.

Visitor recordings on Wikiloc help you get to know the route and its stops. Measurements are approximate and belong to the recorded track; elevation gain adds up the climbs or descents. Difficulty is the author’s own rating and may differ from the guide’s classification. Check current conditions with the attraction’s operator.
